Setting up your connection

Help and ask for help on Eye-Fi related problems

Thank you for your reply. I figured out I have to turn off my camera and turn it back on. Then the transfer starts. But that's only for the Sprint Overdrive connection. When I use wifi from a home or work network, the restart is unnecessary.

The user name request was from the Sprint router, when I was trying to set up an FTP. Since you recommended not to use that, I removed that setup. And the user name is no longer a concern.

If your curious, the camera I'm using is a Sony Cybershot DSC-W310.

Thanks again for your reply.

Have you had any transfers to your computer yet?

Once you've had transfers to your computer, the Eye-Fi Helper should create the file with the upload key here:

C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Eye-Fi\Settings.xml

Note: The next version of the app will automatically get the key. Will hit the App Store within a week or so. (Edit: If Apple approves it)

OK.

The easiest thing would be to wait for the new version.

Or: try opening Notepad, choose File -> Open and type that exact path (well, of course replacing the <your username> with your actual username) into the Filename box and see if it opens the file.
If it doesn't, try searching for settings.xml using Windows' search feature. If I know Windows, you won't get any results though.. But it's worth a shot. If you don't, you could download a better file manager (I always use Total Commander, http://www.ghisler.com/) and search with that.

..but again, waiting for the new version would be easier :)

* Having Relayed Transfer enabled is usually the main problem - turn it off. (Eye-Fi Center->Transfer Mode->Relayed Transfer)

On my Eye-Fi I couldn't switch off the Relayed Transfer :-(
Is Shuttersnitch only working with the new X2 card?

OK, I gave up... :-(

My Eye-Fi Card (Share Video) did not work with ShutterSnitch!

I tried all that was mentioned in this post and nothing works.
Maybe the reason is that I couldn't switch off the relayed transfer?

I tried the FTP way also, but I couldn't login over the Eye-Fi card. Trying an "normal" FTP to ShutterSnitch works.

Any more idea what I should try?

Cheers,
Tom

No, it should work with all the cards.

Relayed transfer must be off for the initial setup. Once the card know's about the iPad, it's possible to turn it on again and still have it working.

If you can't turn off Relayed Transfer, it's usually because another option that needs it, is turned on. I don't know how the settings look for your Share Video, but maybe you could ask Eye-Fi support how to turn Relayed Transfer off? It should be possible..

Actually, this is just a shot in the dark, but I think it might work if you unplug your Internet connection, and make sure that the Eye-Fi Center + Helper is not running on your computer. Then go to a collection in ShutterSnitch and snap a picture with your camera.
Then the card won't be able to upload the image to the Internet, and will ..hopefully.. check the local network for other receivers - and find ShutterSnitch. Try that out!

If you have the eyefi card setup to upload to a web photo site, then relay will be on. Simply disable uploads to these sites and relay should turn off (it did for me).

I got the relayed transfer switched off.
Thanks for your help.

But it didn't work :-(

How can I use the debug switch in ShutterSnitch? Where should I see log entries?
