Unfortunately there is an issue with the Eye-Fi Card and the D800 working together, proved by it working in the D7000 and the computer. I would contact Eye-Fi Support (http://support.eye.fi/contact-support/ call so you get an answer today) to see what they can do to help, but I would not plan on using the D800 and Eye-Fi tomorrow, sorry. The D7000 should work, if you are willing to "step down" a camera and use it, other wise use a regular memory card.

P.S. Let us know what they say, or if you need further help.

A lot of "Auth response timeout", as if it never gets a reply from the router (or perhaps has a timeout that is too low?). The problem is, I don't see what you can do about it :/

Have you tried setting your computer as the receiver of files and see how that works? If it doesn't, you should also bring this up in the Eye-Fi Forums - in case they only think it's a Direct Mode issue. I'm sure the more info they can get on the problem, the faster they'll get to a solution.
..Sadly it reads a little like it's a signal issue..

Is your camera free of attachments? Nothing blocking the card-door? What if you hold the camera very close to the wireless router?

Thanks again for all the help.
So I have a good update. I was able to finally get it to work.
After hearing you mention the "auth response timeout" and the fact that it looked like it was having a hard time connecting to the network... I got out my portable wireless hotspot (Zalip Router) I use on location. I booted that up and things instantly began working. Very strange that my d7000 had no problem logging on to my office wi fi, but the d800 couldn't.
At any rate, both cameras are now working just great... not in my office, but at least I can fall back on my mobile router to get things working.
If you have any ideas as to what was causing that issue, I'd love to hear them. Would still be nice to be able to rely on my office wifi rather than my portable field unit.
Thanks again for your patience and help. Couldn't have figured it out with you guys. Cheers!

Great to hear!

Judging from the Direct Mode issues and that you have things working with another router, I'm thinking that the problem could be the specific wireless network type (b/g/n / channel setup / encryption / authentication setup) perhaps combined with signal strength.. Lots of stuff there it could be. Only one way to find out ..trial and error..

I would contact Eye-Fi support and let them know what you have seen. Something is keeping the Eye-Fi Card from working correctly in that camera (sounds like not enough power to the radio) and they may know of a fix, have special firmware for the card, or offer to swap out your card to see if another card works right.
