And if it's not, getting one where the carrier supports the Personal Hotspot feature, would be a workaround.
In that case you could just create an infrastructure network on the iPad and transmit the photos over that.
And don't worry, it won't be using the 4G network. All transfers between the camera and the iPad happen over a local connection. ..unless you choose to post any of them to the Internet of course. :)
