Photos to iPad and to iMac?

Postby jerriji » Fri Feb 17, 2012 8:19 pm

I have an eye-fi pro card. When I'm out and about, I want to download my photos wirelessly to my iPad 2 to look at them. When I get back to my studio, I want to download the same photos wirelessly to my iMac. I know I can set that up using eye-fi exclusively. Can I do the same thing with Shuttersnitch? I have Shuttersnich set up to download photos to my iPad which it does very well.

Jerry,
Check out ShutterSnitch Back Up in the Mac App Store (it's free). It will automatically download the photos out of ShutterSnitch on your iPad to your iMac once you get back to the studio.

That is the easiest way, but there are also more advanced options that you can read about here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=414

OK I have the Shuttersnitch working, however on my home network while connected with internet access. Photos transfer nicely.

I have a D-link Di-524 (spare) and want to take this in the field (no internet). All I can tell you about an ad-hoc network is that it is not connected to the internet.
How do I get these devices to talk? There are some many posts telling me how easy it is.... and yet no help when it doesn't work.

Both the iPad and the Card are set for my wireless device here, I believe, yet nothing is happening.
I also see that the iPad is listening at 192.168.0.197 and port 26000. No idea what to do with that information?

EyeFi support won't discuss Shuttersnitch, which is understandable. I am embarrassed to say how long I have poked at this with no progress.
Thank you in advance.

Mike,
Have you added the network from the D-Link to the Eye-Fi Card? If so you should see it listed as a network in Eye-Fi Center under where you add networks.
What model Eye-Fi Card do you have? If it is one of the X2 models you can simplify the setup by using Direct Mode and not needing the router.
An Eye-Fi Card log will help us see what the card is doing. Please try to take five pictures on that setup and give it about 5 minutes to try to transfer. Then plug the Eye-Fi Card into the computer and click on the Eye-Fi Helper icon and select get card log. Then post the log here.
