Adjustments are saved in the sRGB colorspace. My guess is that your original photo is shot in Adobe RGB or a high dynamic range colorspace.

I'm afraid I can't help with speed issues since they must be located outside my software (I don't have any limits in the code).

Could be network drivers, networking hardware, camera networking stack (software/hardware).
