While I'm doing that, a few questions:

Are you a subscriber or did you buy the app before it became subscription based?

Does it only crash if it's currently connected to the camera?

I can successfully receive Alpha IV photos, but when I want to return to the main collection, It will flash back to the ipad home screen. It's not going to be as snappy as using the Fujifilm tethering (perhaps a few seconds between retrieving new photos), but yes, using a wi-fi card would be the solution.

Just make sure "Accept JPEGs only" is turned on in the ShutterSnitch settings and you should be good. :)

He didn't seem interested in updating SnitchSync, so it's now possible with the official ShutterSnitch Metadata Importer Lightroom Classic Plug-in + ShutterSnitch version 5.4.
