ShutterSnitch doesn’t know about camera specific preferences, so it just requests the new files that are written to the card.

If you don’t want to receive raw files, make sure “Accept JPEGs only” is turned on in the ShutterSnitch settings.

When you send to FileZilla, you're doing so via FTP. When you connect to the camera and import via wrench -> import images, it's via PTP/IP. I think the problem is that you're not subscribing. Support for EOS R was added in version 4.3.6 and is therefore a subscription feature. I assume the R5 works...

If you're sure the file in ShutterSnitch is 8MB (you can check this in filmstrip mode by tapping and holding the photo in the filmstrip and picking 'File Information), then it's clearly being resized or recompressed.
