Sounds like a network issue. A couple of things to try:

* Connect using Passive mode.
* Connect via a different wi-fi network. If that works, you'll know that it's a setting (firewall/security) somewhere in your wi-fi router.
* Maybe your computer is blocking incoming connections?
* In case it's a port blocking thing, you can change the FTP port in the ShutterSnitch settings. To 21 for example.
* In the settings you can also try a different character encoding. Common ones are ASCII, Latin1, UTF-8.
* Turn on Traffic Inspector in the ShutterSnitch settings to see if the log gives you any hints as to what's going wrong.

OK. I can reproduce it with WinSCP here. (But it works with Total Commander and Google Chrome.)

Looks like WinSCP says "Send me this file" - and then the next thing it does is *not* to accept the file transfer, but it starts a new connection for ..something. I'm currently trying to see what setting I can turn off that could be that 'something'. (Also: Looks like Passive mode is the way to go.)

Tried everything (I think) without any luck. But here's a "workaround" for WinSCP: Connect via WebDAV on port 8080 instead of FTP.
