Hello I am trying to set up a Sony A9 to send to an iPhone using a lighting to ethernet adapter and a short patch cable. I have successfully done this with a Nikon D500.

I did it much the way rmackson described it in this post: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2437

The issue I see to be having is that when you manually set the IP address of the camera on the A9 you need to enter a default gateway. On the D500 the gateway option is not enabled

I have the IP address of the phone set to 10.0.0.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0

The camera's IP address I have set to 10.0.0.2 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0

My question is what do I set the default gateway to?

The gateway is “who is in charge of the network” so my guess would be 10.0.0.1 in your case. I’d also change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, although I don’t think it’s important.

I don’t have an A9 so I don’t know if it’ll work - but good luck! :)

Thank you. I'll try it out and see what works. Making things difficult is it is a colleague's A9, so I can't troubleshoot immediately.
