Hi,

We touched on Canon .CR3 raw files not working within Shuttersnitch last August/September. I tried again last week but still to no avail. The files will transfer, but then I get an error message in Shuttersnitch stating "invalid data". However, if I transfer the .CR3 files from my Canon G5X Mkii via WFT onto my iPad Pro (iOS v13.7) and then import them into Adobe Lightroom, I am able to successfully read the files and work with them. Earlier correspondence suggested that when Apple/iOS updated their handling of the file format, Shuttersnitch would automatically fall into line. If Adobe LR can read and process the file format on the iPad, shouldn't Shuttersnitch be able to do so now? Your thoughts appreciated on the matter.

I’m sure Lightroom does it’s own raw processing and doesn’t rely on iOS for that.

Embarrassing for Apple that they still don’t support this CR3 raw format, but here we are.

OK, thanks for the update, I can but hope that they will at some point make good on the problem for all of us .CR3 users.

Good news comes to those that wait! I have finally been able to successfully parse Canon .CR3 raw files on my iPad Pro. I was beginning to think it was never going to happen, but lo and behold, it has come of age. I am currently running V5.0.6 of Shuttersnitch and V14.2 (18B92) on the iPad. I saw the latest update for Shuttersnitch waiting to be installed and read the release notes, which reminded me to post this update here. I have not yet updated to the very latest edition of Shuttersnitch (5.07)
