Downgrading to pre-subscription state

Postby cubanito » Thu Apr 11, 2024 1:27 am

I probably accidentally updated the ShutterSnitch app to version 5.1.3 on an old iPod 2 device.
How can I restore the application to its pre-subscription state?

By not subscribing :)

When it tells you that ShutterSnitch is now subscription based and gives you the tier options, you'll also see a "No Thanks" button in the top right hand corner (if you're logged in with your Apple ID on your device and you purchased ShutterSnitch with that Apple ID prior to it going subscription based).

Note: If you try using features added after going subs-based you will be presented with the subscription screen again - which you can then cancel out of if you want.

Since I already had the 5.1.3 ShutterSnitch app on my iPad there was no "No Thanks" button. I thought I would sacrifice my catalogs just to be able to use the app again, so I deleted it and tried to download it again.
Unfortunately the thing is that this is a pretty old second generation iPad I can no longer download the ShutterSnitch app for this iPad because there is a compatibility problem. Please help me to be able to use it again on this device because I am in trouble now. Thanks in advance.

I think you can go into your account in the App Store app and find your list of purchased apps and then install the latest compatible one from there?

I don't see such a possibility
This pop-up window appears when I click on download:
Unable to Purchase
ShutterSnitch is not compatible with this iPad

Are you sure you're doing this from your list of purchased apps under your account? (The avatar in the top right-hand corner on the App Store main page.)

It sounds like you're searching the App Store for the app and trying to install it from there.. Which you shouldn't, because that result would be the latest version that your device doesn't support.

It had to be downloaded from the list of purchased apps as you wrote.
But you had to click on the application icon, not the download icon.
That's how the download worked.
5.6.0 is the last working version for me. Thanks again!
