1.2.12 with SS 5.7.1 in state "connecting ..." no pull

Postby photoblitzer.de » Thu Feb 16, 2023 8:51 am

Hi,

I am trying to connect my my iPad with my MacBook but it stays in the state "connecting". Also, the iPad does not appear as long I press settings button, then it shows the iPad I want to connect to but in the state connecting.

iOS: 12.5.7
SSB: 1.2.12
SS: 5.7.1
OS: Ventura 13.2

This is no new setup and I tried it with a different iPad using SS 5.6.0 and the iPad 12.5.7 in combination with 5.7.1 and Shuttersnitch Backup but using an older Version of the Mac OS and this worked like a charm so I think it could be an issue with using Ventura?

Thank you

BRs

Oh no, now I have to update to Ventura.. :)

Thanks for letting me know - I'll try and post back when I have something to report.

While I update..: I wonder if it's a question of going into your System Settings -> Security & Privacy -> Privacy tab and adding ShutterSnitch Backup there.

It discovers iOS devices via network messages, and Apple is tightening that stuff up.

Hahaha yes, I didn't want to upgrade too but I had to due to software we are using for work.

Yes, I added SSB to the software that is allowed to access the hard drive and folders but it still is not working.

THANK YOU for you support! :)

I'm knee-deep in the code right now, and it looks like they've finally blocked the use of self-signed (and therefore not really "trusted") HTTPS certificates.

Currently trying to see if there's any way of getting around it without also needing to update ShutterSnitch (and having to go through App Review..).

I really should rewrite this whole thing (12 year old code!!) but I only have so many hours in the day. :)

Hm. Version 1.3 is up, but when I do a "Check for application updates" in the app it says there's nothing new. So I think there's also something wrong with the updating mechanism. :)

You'll have to get it manually from the link in this post: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3027

Just unzip it and put it in the Apps folder, overwriting the old one.

Added bonus is better memory management and support for Apple Silicon CPUs!

YEAH!

Thank you, it is working like a charm, again!

Thank you very much! If you need me to test new unpublished software in the future, just get back to me.
:)

Cheers
