Network Problems

Postby Langehes » Sun Mar 25, 2018 11:35 am

since the last update we have network problems with shuttersnitch on the ipad. The Wifisd card is recognized and also the Canon Selfie printer recognizes the Wifi SD card. After a short while, the connection to the camera and the printer stops. There are many more Wi-Fi networks available. Shuttersnitch may only allow the WIFISD. Is there a Shuttersnitch problem here?

Sorry, but it's impossible for ShutterSnitch to affect the card in any way.

ShutterSnitch is to the Transcend card what a web-browser is to a website. It can connect to it and see/download what's there, but it can't cause it to shut down.

So if you're having connections drop, the problem must reside on the card side. It could be the camera powering down (have you checked if the camera hasn't been reverted to go to sleep after a while?) or maybe it could be a signal strength / noise issue.

(Also, the latest update makes no changes to the wi-fi card part of ShutterSnitch.)

We tested everything. the problem also occurs with a 2nd Trenscend sd card. is it possible that a repeater interferes with the connection between the camera and ShutterSnitch?

No idea, sorry. To test that, you could visit a friend and test it at their house.

You could also test to see if it's related to the camera by plugging the card into a card reader on a computer and see how it keeps the connection.

I know you say you've tested with two cards, but just to be sure it's not a filesystem issue, you could try formatting the card or maybe checking if there's a new firmware out.
