Internet Access in Direct Mode

Hello Everybody,

i just wanted to share a little tip with the Shuttersnitch Community.

If you want to maintain internet access (in 3g) while in direct mode (like the eye-fi card) there is a simple hack.

Once you connect to the card, from the preferences in the iOS settings menu, click the little blue arrow to access the ip settings of that network.
Then switch to STATIC IP ADDRESSING and put in a static ip such as the default 192.168.11.11 subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
Shutttersnitch will listen to the card and receive all photos, and you will also be able to upload them to a network destination.

The only drawback is that the Transcend app will not function. To use the app temporarily switch back to Dynamic DHCP Addressing.

Hope this helps!

Bye Bye all!

Awesome, exactly what I was looking for! I followed your setup instructions and found that, at least on firmware 2.0/2.1, the Transcend app does work. Thanks a bunch!
