Shuttersnitch range with GX-7

Postby pete1957 » Tue Dec 31, 2013 12:10 pm

Hi there,
I was considering buying a GX-7 to use as a 'pole' camera — attaching it to the end of an 8m (25ft) long carbon fibre pole and using its wifi capabilities to preview the image and trigger the shutter. Downloading pics to an ipad/iphone is of secondary importance to me.
However, I've read on the DP Review forums that people are finding that Panasonic's own wifi setup won't work beyond about 10-12ft, though I'm not sure if this limitation is due to their app or the camera hardware.
If it's the former then maybe ShutterSnitch could solve that problem?

It's due to the camera hardware, sorry. Software has no say. :(

Also, just to clarify, ShutterSnitch only receives new photos from the Panasonic cameras. It can't be used to initiate a capture.
Support the development of ShutterSnitch: Rate/review it in iTunes, Tweet about it, make Youtube videos, blog about it.. Get the word out.

Many thanks for that.

I'll cross the GX-7 off my list!
