Sony A7R - automatically pushing photos

Postby viellieb » Sat Jun 14, 2014 10:29 am

I just downloaded shuttersnitch to use it with my Sony A7R (Firmware 1.02)
In the installation help shuttersnitch says that if I have setup to push photos, the will appear automatically.

I tried this using the "send to smarthpone" option (Wireless icon, page 1, Menu item # 1) and then "choose on smartphone"
Doesn't work, it tries to connect forever.

Choosing photos to import in shuttersnitch works fine, but pushing the photos automatically doesn't.
And that would be the most helpful function for photoshoots :-)

Am I doing something wrong here?
Unfortunately I didn't find anything that helped my case - neither in the forums nor anywhere else online :(

Thanks in advance for your help!

Could you try going into the ShutterSnitch settings, scrolling down to the bottom and turn on "Traffic Inspector".

Then go into a collection and try pushing a photo from your camera. Do you get any error messages in the log window? If so, please copy and paste it in a post here.

Hi, has there been a solution for this?

I am trying the same thing (auto push from Sony A7(R) to iPad and don't get it going.

I can connect the ipad to the cameras wifi and both works, control via camera (pushes images to the ipad - but then disconnects) or control via ipad (import from camera - but listing takes a long time if there are many images on the SD card).

Auto-push would be really helpful during a shooting.

Sadly, this is a camera limitation.

Sony simply doesn't offer a send-as-you-take-the-photos option.

Actually, very few wi-fi cameras do this. I suspect they avoid it because the battery drain is too high when the wi-fi is constantly on.

But who knows - maybe they just don't think there's a demand for it. So why not voice your opinion with the local Sony support. If they hear the request often enough maybe a firmware update could add the feature.
