If you haven't done this already, make sure ShutterSnitch can receive from your camera by going through the setup guide via the collection overview -> Options -> Setup Guide. You'll only need to do this once.

For Sony A9, see the next post.

Note: ShutterSnitch does not support the Push modes on Sony A7ii cameras.

I don't have an NEX myself, but it's been confirmed to work. The following steps are specific to the A7, but should be fairly similar on the NEX cameras.

There are three ways of sending/receiving photos:

Push photos (option 1)
While viewing a photo on the camera, click the 'Fn' button and pick 'This image' or 'Multiple Images'. Then join the camera-network from your iOS device and enter or create a collection in ShutterSnitch. Once paired, the camera will push the photo(s).

Push photos (option 2)
From the camera menu, select 'Send to Smartphone' from the Wi-Fi tab. Pick 'Select on This Device' and then 'This image' or 'Multiple Images'. Then join the camera-network from your iOS device and enter or create a collection in ShutterSnitch. Once paired, the camera will push the photo(s).

Browse & download photos
From the camera menu, select 'Send to Smartphone' on the Wi-Fi tab. Pick 'Send to Smartphone' and then 'Select on Smartphone'. Then join the camera-network from your iOS device and enter or create a collection in ShutterSnitch. Once paired, tap the tool icon in toolbar and pick 'Import images' -> Camera name.

Sadly Sony doesn't support pushing photos as you take them.

Note: ShutterSnitch does not support the "Remote Control" function available on some cameras.

On Sony A9 cameras, Browse & Download is supported via "Send to Smartphone" -> "Select on Smartphone".

Selecting and transmitting from the camera is also possible, but has to be done via "FTP Transfer Func."

Sony A9 FTP transfers. Your Host Name and Port is displayed at the top of the screen when you enter a collection in ShutterSnitch. The default username is snitch and password is your super user password.
