I’d like to know too!

If no one can confirm, and my financial situation improves in the new year, I’ll see if I can check it out myself. :)

Hi,

Sorry to bother you.
My camera has arrived, but I can’t get it to work with ShutterSnitch. It’s an excellent camera, both photo and video! If you have it in the future or you hear somebody who managed to get it working, please let me know.

Are there videos with instructions somewhere?

Thanks,
Korneel

My financial situation has not improved, but that's normal for the beginning of the year. Hopefully things will look better in the coming months so I can get my hands on one.

Thanks for replying!

Do you have a G9 (old) or more recent GH5 II or GH 6 you can instruct me how to make connection to ShutterSnitch please. I have a subscription and I can make a donation for your help.

Thanks,

I’m sorry, but I don’t. Since it’s been so many years since I added support for old Panasonic cameras, I assume they’ve changed/improved the way it works these days. That’s why I need to get my hands on the camera itself and probably do a lot of coding to make it work.

But in case you’re lucky, maybe try this workaround for GH5: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=2221#p10351
That looks like a pick-and-transfer workaround though, not transfer-as-you-take-photos.

Hi, I think I tried everything. With auto transfer on the camera sends S / M / L jpg or Raw Images but only the Lumix Sync app receives them. The moment you bring ShutterSnitch to the foreground, the link to the camera is broken.
I will continue my subscription till the moment you let me know if you can make it work on the G9 Mark II or not.
Thanks,

Unless you get some other use out of ShutterSnitch, I think you should do it the other way around - stop subscribing until I know for sure I can make it work. I know you're being nice, but I feel bad taking money from you for something I don't yet *know* I can deliver on.

I promise you I'll do my best to get it working, it's just a matter of money and most importantly time. I need both of them, and if my crystal ball isn't broken (or major life-stuff interferes) both should be coming next month.. (Edit: Shoot, I thought we'd just entered February when I wrote this - by 'next month' I meant March) Then it's just a matter of how long it'll take me to figure things out.

While you wait for me: You say that things work when using the Lumix Sync app. It's almost certain that both it and ShutterSnitch can't be running at the same time. The pairing must happen with only one app. So just in case: Have you tried making sure the Lumix Sync app isn't running while you try pairing it with ShutterSnitch? (Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to see the app-switcher, find the Lumix app and swipe up on it to stop it from running.)

Although, my current Panasonic implementation was made for the Lumix Link app, so I'm guessing the Lumix Sync just works differently.

I'm afraid I have bad news..

In order to establish a connection, the G9mk2 and LUMIX Sync app exchange an authentication token that they use to confirm they can trust each other. Without knowing how to process that token, I can't establish a connection.

So I'm afraid Panasonic is saying no thanks to strangers.. :(
