FUJI latest camera firmware update .

Postby rallysnapper » Tue Jun 06, 2023 7:39 pm

Hi please be aware that I updated my Fuji XT 3 camera to version five firmware , this firmware update is across the whole XT range of cameras . Today I had lots of images to transfer from the XT 3 camera into Shuttersnith for editing etc well sadly this firmware update has crippled Shuttersnith from receiving any images from the camera . I get to the browse and download window to start the transfer and no images appear into Shuttersnith . This camera worked perfectly before my firmware update , many thanks Fuji..not. If anybody else has had this problem and found a workaround I’d like to know…

Forgot to mention the Shuttersnith push from camera button works which is a slow way to input images with this new camera firmware update . Sadly the browse and download button will now not work with the new Fuji version five update for my XT3 . I don’t know if Shuttersnith needs updated to reflect the new firmware which has been released for the Fuji XT 3,4 and 5 cameras or their is a bug in this firmware update .

Sorry to hear that!

Reading the 5.00 release notes it looks like they're moving to a new app, FUJIFILM XApp. That usually means everything breaks.

Of course they don't make it easy for people to move away from an upgrade, but if you're feeling adventurous I found this link to the 4.00 firmware:

https://dl.fujifilm-x.com/support/firmw ... UP0019.DAT

I haven't had any luck finding the latest version 4.52 prior to 5.0 :/

I'll see if I can add support for their new protocol, but no promises..

Update: found 4.50 here: https://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SCANN ... 4-50.shtml not a direct link to Fujifilms download server, so hmm. But the file *looks* like an original firmware.

I better cover my butt and say downgrade at your own risk..

Good news (I hope).

I wasn't able to get my hands on an X-T3 to test with, so I had to go with an X-T4 instead.

It works with tethering on the newly released firmware, but downloading existing photos using PC Auto Save fails. I suspect this is the same issue you're having, but I haven't been able to find a way to start a "Browse and download" mode. I don't think it's possible on X-T4 - how do you do enter this mode on your X-T3?

I've finally tracked down the reason for why transfers fail on the X-T4 though and I'm hoping it's the same reason on the 3.

I still have a lot of testing to do to make sure the fix doesn't affect other cameras, so while I'm doing that, please let me know the steps you take to get to the Browse & Download on your X-T3.

Hi, I’ve just received my Xt 3 back from Fuji UK they returned the XT3 with the firmware put back to 4.52, now I can Wi-Fi my images to Shuttersnith using the download and browse button in ShutterSnitch as before the update to firmware 5.00. I haven’t a clue what firmware version 5.00:did to stop this action.

Hi the Brew,
I missed your question re how do I get to browse and download into ShutterSnitch from the XT3. When I’m ready to transfer from the XT3 into ShutterSnitch I hit the WiFi shortcut on the camera. My iPad picks up the adhoc connection , I open up ShutterSnitch to receive any images it’s in this window in ShutterSnitch that a window opens up giving me the option to push an image or browse and download . I mostly choose browse and download and all my images appear in that window. After all my images appear in this window I then select all images this in turn imports my images into ShutterSnitch, this is a fast import of the images .

Not firmware related, I’d just like to mention that I can also download RAW files straight from the Fuji XT3 camera over Wi-Fi . I’m grateful that you still support Eye Fi X2 Pro within Shuttersnitch to undertake this action. I wish Fuji would realise that it can be done and build it into their camera systems. It’s a great assist to import raw files over an adhoc network in the middle of no place and edit my raw files. Again many thanks for the x2 support.

That's very kind of you to say, thank you. I plan on being around and supporting it for many more years. :)
