Fujifilm x-h2 freezes when tranfering jpeg

Hi!
I have Fujifilm X-H2 and i can connect to same wifi with ipad pro and x-h2 but after awhile camera freezes mid transfer and i have to force shutdown camera(battery off).
Any help?

Also directly to connect cameras wifi doesn’t work on newer fujis, fuji has changed something so direct wifi only works on fuji-app.

New camera X-H2 so no earlier experience.
Everytime. Tried it again on new shoot(different wifi network), at start work fine but then after 10-15 images transfer freezes mid and have to force restart camera.
I’m now afraid to use this app if freezing affects saving on memory card.
Mode is tethered, new fujis require that to get wifi connection going.

Something in new fujis doesn’t play well with this app.

In case I can't reproduce it, what size / quality files are you transferring?

And are they JPEGs and / or raws?

Does it happen during bursts or can it also happen with a "long" delay between shots?

Jpeg transfer only, raw-files save to cameras memory card.
Started with full size jpegs and between camera restarts changed to s-size jpegs, no difference.
Taking portrait photos, not in burst mode, but taking 1-5 photos in sequences. I feel like it happened in those 1-5 photo "bursts".
So when i restarted camera and and waited it to connect to wifi and back on the app the first test image worked but then it transferred couple images but got stuck again with camera saving/transfer light on and wouldn't "clear buffer"(maybe?).
Finally restarting the camera and putting it back "normal" mode(tether off, wifi off) then no problem with camera taking pictures.

I'm afraid the issue must be something on your end.

I've tested using both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wi-Fi and on Firmware 1.00 and the latest 1.20. On each test I transferred 100+ large JPEGs without any issues. I shot in bursts and moved between rooms.

My initial guess would be 'Signal noise', but since you say you experienced it on another wi-fi network too, that's probably not it. Unless both places are very signal-noisy.

In case it's because you're using a firmware version that caused the problem (somewhere between 1.00 and 1.20) then you can get the latest version here: https://fujifilm-x.com/en-us/support/do ... eras/x-h2/
You can check your current firmware version by holding down then "Disp/Back" button on the back of the camera and then turning it on.

I'm not sure where the antenna is located on the camera, but in case you normally grab the camera tightly in specific places and inadvertently block/reduce the signal, you could try not to - while testing - to see if that changes anything. And if it does, try holding it differently.

Your camera could of course be defective, but that's usually not the case.

Hi you mentioned that your XH2 won’t transmit files via direct mode to Shuttersnitch and yes you are correct Fuji has done something with the camera firmware , this problem goes back as far as the Fuji XT 3 . I updated my XT 3 cameras past firmware 4.52 and suddenly I could not continue in direct transfer mode for file transfer . I sent my cameras back to Fuji to get my firmware rolled back to 4.52 and all is well.
I sadly won’t buy another Fuji camera/s as I have no intension of using that new Fuji app☹️.
