EOS R5 Auto-import Support

Postby gcam122 » Fri Jul 31, 2020 2:43 pm

The EOS R5 is allowing me to do a manual import of selected images. What I'm missing is the ability to have images automatically imported as I shoot. Am I missing something or does this require an update?

I haven't had access to an R5 yet, so I can't really say at this time.

According to the manual it looks like it has the capability of sending photos as you take them, so it should be possible - it's just a question if something has to be tweaked in my code to support it.

Are you a subscriber or are you a long-time user who's just using the pre-subscriptions-based version?

Tried now various things according to the setup hints... all working fine except for the auto-import.
Is there already a solution? Camera has a feature called transfer after shooting but even if set to on it doent do it.

It's working for me with an R6.
What happens when you try with the R5?

Turns out it was because auto-import only works if you’re a subscriber. (Functionality added after going subscription based. :)

Interesting, is Auto-Import the same as setting FTP to auto-send on the EOS?
I'm an original Shuttersnitch paid user and not a subscriber, and auto-send works for me.

It’s not, no. With FTP, it’s the camera that does all the work. The auto-import talked about in this topic is related to PTPIP connections where it’s ShutterSnitch that does the transfers.
