CANON 1Dx & WFT, upgrade to iPad mini 4, no connection

Postby alan.a » Fri Sep 25, 2015 10:26 pm

I've been using shuttersnitch for more or less 3 years with an iPhone 4s and and iPad Mini (v1), both under iOS 9.01.
Works perfectly.
I bought an iPad mini 4, made the set up by migrating form the iPad Mini to the IPad mini 4 via iTunes, therefore I have an exact copy of my old iPad mini.
Everything should work perfectly since all my set up have been transferred.

But...

On the IPad mini, nothing is working.
Can't I transfer my files to the iPad mini 4 ?

Is there any hardware limitation ?

No limitations no.

But since it's a new device, double-check if the IP has changed. Maybe the WFT is looking at the wrong address.

Are you using the infrastructure or ad-hoc setup?

Try tapping the blue 'i' to the right of the ad-hoc network in the Settings app.

Write down the information you have under the 'Static' tab.

Then tap 'Forget this network'. Then re-join it and re-enter the static settings.

I did what you suggested but didn't worked.
I finally find out that on my iPad, even if you type a wrong password on the ad-hoc/wifi network, your are connected, even if in fact the camera and the iPad aren't able to communicate.
The iPad doesn't tell your password is wrong! (I thought I was typing the usual basic password but this one couldn't match, it was too long).
I changed the password in the camera, changed it in my devices, and everything worked perfectly.

Thanks for the support.

Wow, strange..

Thank you so much for the follow-up. You're not the only one who's run into this when changing device, so now I know what to suggest to the next person. :)

Good to hear you're back in business!
