Canon 5D4 and iPad

Postby fatdad » Thu Sep 08, 2016 3:03 pm

Is it possible to use ShutterSnitch with my new 5D Mark IV and the integrated Wifi? I have a connection with the iPad and the Canon Software works well but no function with ShutterSnitch. Any help? Regards

Edit: To save new readers some time: Yes, ShutterSnitch supports 5D mk4 now.

I haven't tested it. Maybe they've changed something in the spec.

Do you pick the Canon 6D option in the ShutterSnitch Setup Guide?

Could you try going into the ShutterSnitch settings, scroll all the way to the bottom and turn on "Traffic Inspector". Then pair the camera and see if the log says anything interesting.

in my german version I picked "Canon Camera Window" and "PTP (Nikon/EOS Utility)". no "6D" Option.

I would guess that you don't have to go with the Camera Window setting. It can even confuse the initial pairing (it's what the cheaper Canon cameras use :), so turn that off in the ShutterSnitch settings. Then go to the main ShutterSnitch screen, tap the Options button and pick the "Setup Guide". Then pick the 6D option and see if ShutterSnitch can now connect to the camera.

The SSID / password is all up to the camera. Not ShutterSnitch related.

Looks like Canon Camera Window is still on in the ShutterSnitch settings. Turn it off and try again.

Could you post the Traffic Inspector log of what happens after you've joined the camera network?
