progressive Job ID/Transmission ref

Suggest away - maybe I'll like the idea :)

progressive Job ID/Transmission ref

Postby mishimayuki » Thu Jan 17, 2019 1:32 pm

I need to set a code replacement in the IPTC's "Job ID/Transmission ref" field that would update the count after every image. Something like %%idsequence%% .
Is that possible?
thank you

Although.. a workaround could be to set up an Action task to rename the incoming file to just the file-number, and then in your metadata preset use the %%filename%% metadata token in the Job ID/Transmission ref. field.

Thanks my,
that could work but would need to tweak the camera's file name setting a bit.

Hi Brian

Is there then a way of using the caption or other tIPTC field as a watermark on export?

Scenario

Taking pics that are sent to a dye sub but where the holder can go to website to find image online by file name on image

The change filename workaround is a good idea indeed, but the problem is that the token %%filename%% brings in the file extension, JPG, into the job ID field.
Is there a token that only imports the name and not the file extension?
Thanks

Since that was literally a 1 minute fix, I've added a %%filenameWithoutExtension%% token to the next version (4.8.2). I can't say when it'll be out because I'm currently waiting on a delivery of a camera I need to fix a bug for. But hopefully it won't be too long. :)
