After-Crop blocky style

Postby athuillier » Tue Dec 03, 2019 3:59 pm

Hi TheBrew,
When I watch a photo at 100% after a rotative crop the picture looks very blocky, a bit as if ShutterSnitch was displaying the cropped preview.
The full size picture stays good (I get the file after a transmission) but I cannot watch it in ShutterSnitch

Thanks for letting me know. Could you give me some more info to help me reproduce it:

What's the pixel dimensions of the original photo?
What's the pixel dimensions of the cropped photo?
What iPhone are you using?
What is your "Max. cache image dimension" (in the "Cache" section of the ShutterSnitch settings) ..and does picking for example 1920, fix it? (You'd need to re-crop a little and press done to refresh.)

For performance reasons ShutterSnitch just shows the adjusted cache-file when browsing. So maybe that's all there is to it.

..and before you ask, yes, I'll look into that also-send-wav-file-sibling when exporting. :)

Pixel dimensions of the original photo = 6421 x 4281
Pixel dimensions of the cropped photo = 3940 x 2627
iPhone I am using = iPhone X with iOS 13.2.3
Cache image dimension = I tick 1280
Picking 1920 = Yes it changes the result, it is better with 1920. But it does not really fix the problem, as it does not display the original 100% definition.
Thanks for the .wav ! really ! :-)

Good, thanks for the info!

I did it this way because the performance hit would be too high weighed against how relatively special this case is. There's probably a smart way around it, I just didn't have the time to think it through back when I worked on that part of the code - and since it's just cosmetic it sunk in priority. I'll add it to my list of things-that-need-to-be-done-right. :)

OK thanks TheBrew. I really understand, no worries.
It is not really our priorities neither... To help you sorting your huge list, ours are more:

- This .wav upload
- A New warning for Time & Date
- Shortcut for "download mode" in the toolbar
- Browse and compare the pictures at 100% (I think a very smart demand btw...)
- Voice tag recording (To record this .wav file)
- Jpeg file quality as action / task

Thanks
