WT5 + iPad+iPhone

Postby alanp » Mon Jul 15, 2013 7:13 am

The transmission light on TheD4 with WT5 transmitter flashes green briefly and then goes back to white. Switch the camera on and off a couple of times and the pic will transmit - eventually. Same with iPhone. The Wt4 works perfectly every time with the D4.
Attached the traffic inspector results. Any help greatly appreciated as I have a headache!

The first thing to do is to go into the ShutterSnitch settings and turn off PTP/IP transfers. (Not needed for the WT.)

If this log represents what you see when the WT5 fails, then it never contacts ShutterSnitch. So it could be that it's not done connecting to the iPad?

When it fails, turn on the display on the D4 and select the wrench icon - does it show an error at the bottom of the screen?

I don't get any error messages on the camera or the iPad. The camera will eventually transmit a pic but refuses to send a second one without a lot of fiddling. The only difference I can see is that the ipad and camera ip address is 192.168.1.3 and the host address in SS settimgs is 192.168.1.1. I have tried changing that in SS but doesnt make any difference. Attached a slightly different traffic report.

The 192.168.1.1 host you see in the settings are only for PTP/IP transfers, and since that's not what you're using with the WT, changing that won't make any difference.

Double check that you've turned on "Overwrite if same name" in the Network -> Options setting on your camera - the WT acts really weird if that's off. That could very well be the issue.

I must congratulate you. All our problems seem to have been caused by the overwrite setting in the camera. It is now turned on and so far everything works perfectly.
Thanks very much. Alan

A suggestion that would be of great benefit to us at least.
Is it possible to to be able to select a group of thumbnails at the bottom and copy all at once to another app? At the moment transferring one by one is a bit slow.

Thanks Alan

Press the photo with the arrow coming out of it in the upper right and you can select multiple images.
