Upload key

Postby tonyr » Mon May 24, 2010 7:48 am

I'm trying to find "upload key" in my Settings.xml, without much luck.. Below is what I find in Settings.xml.. ( I have completed at least one transfer via Eye-Fi Center Server)

true 9 d2b06ab4a6b49b359d28d50e2fdb1c56 c94e4e62be7198ac57f6b87706819d18 33282 1274065268 iPhoto: 1 1 iPhoto: 1 1 /Users/Tony_Raftis/Pictures/Eye-Fi 1 1 00000000000000000000000000000000 717f929f9a9561c2229e08b6968a4942 2 1274067902 /Users/Tony_Raftis/Pictures/Eye-Fi 1 1

Any help appreciated..

It's usually 32 keys units.

Try This grouping.

It looks like we have progressed..Listening info is..

Listening on port 26000
IP 10.0.1.18
Eye-Fi supported

Then the following message appears

An Eye-Fi card is trying to connect
but it doesn't seem to like your
authentication key

( Strangely... one photo was uploaded.. weird..)

Thanks again for your help

What you're seeing here is a formatted version of the file. All the descriptive labels are removed (thanks Microsoft! ;)

The unformatted version would look like this:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
<Config version="2.0">
<ShowThumbnailPreview>true</ShowThumbnailPreview>
<MIB>
<ReceivedCounter>9</ReceivedCounter>
</MIB>
<Cards>
<Card MacAddress="01-23-45-67-89-AB">
<UploadKey>d2b06ab4a6b49b359d28d50e2fdb1c56</UploadKey>
<DownsyncKey>c94e4e62be7198ac57f6b87706819d18</DownsyncKey>
<TransferMode>33282</TransferMode>
...

Sounds like you got the right key - since the image was uploaded. The alert you're getting is a timeout problem that is fixed in the next update of ShutterSnitch, which has been in review for 12 days now. Hopefully it'll be out soon..

FWIW, I ran into pretty much the same issues as above: Photos wouldn't upload and I got the "doesn't seem to like your authentication key" messages.

Turns out that I still had video sharing (with Flickr) activated for the card, which in turn automatically enables relaying to the Eye-Fi server. Once I disabled that, ShutterSnitch began receiving my test photo. It only got half of it, though, before the "doesn't seem to like your authentication key" message popped up again.

So I guess that is timeout issue mentioned above now and I'm patiently waiting for Apple to approve the update ...

The Eye-Fi upload is the main reason why I bought this app, btw. Looking forward to being able to actually use it :)

The next version would be out now! ..if it wasn't rejected. Sigh.

Believe me, I can't say I'm waiting patiently at this moment.

This topic probably been asked before. I need to find my upload key and I am not sure where I would start locating this. I am not a computer savvy but I am guessing I will find it in my C drive just like the one mentioned above but I couldn't find it anywhere. I have upload a picture like mention in the website but no luck. Please help..

It depends on which computer you are on - is it a PC or a Mac? Is it Windows XP, Vista, or 7?

If you're patient, the next version to hit the App Store will solve this problem for you - since there will be a guide that gets it for you. It should be there in about a week (if Apple approves it).
