Setting up your connection

..the WFT is in the mail!

Well, not exactly - it's on backorder, but once it gets here, I'll write a how-to.

Unless a friendly soul beats me to it!

Mywi + Shuttersnitch

Postby Jockel » Thu May 06, 2010 11:07 pm

Hi!
Just set up an ad-hoc network through Mywi on my jailbreaked iPhone 3G. Booted Shuttersnitch and got IP-number 192.168.20.1.
Ran WFT-E2 Utility and entered the following FTP-settings: 192.168.20.1, port 2600, username and password, unchecked "Make folder structure of target folder same as the camera".
Applied to camera and Voilà, I could send my images from the Canon Mk3 directly to the iPhone.

Now, I hope soon to be able to send my images unscaled to newpapers and so on ;-)

Hehe, your wish is my command - unscaled images through e-mail is already programmed and ready for version 1.1.3 (waiting for 1.1.2 approval at the moment..)

I have the 1D Mk iv and ordered the wft-e2 II. I wanted to use it with FTP and photosnitch. I could not get it to work and Canon support (1-800-OK-CANON) told me I was on my own with setting up my network. So I returned it and got the Eye-fi pro. It goes in my 2nd card slot, where I have the camera produce small jpegs (RAWs go on my CF). I like how the camera doesn't have a part hanging off the side of it. I work right out of the box with the included usb part. I now have set it up to work on my ipad via ShutterSnitch. Very easy. Plus the Eye-fi is N speed and only cost $150.

I am just wondering are you looking for people to Beta test and provide walk throughs on the application with certain devices such as the WFT-E5a?

The more guides the better if you ask me. If you or anyone else is interested in helping out fellow photographers, please mail me and we can talk about what's needed.

Thanks :)

I should hopefully have a full guide put up for the WFT-E5a this week. I have the initial screenshots of shuttersnitch on the iPad, but still needing to cover the configuration on the WFT.

On the wft-e5a, it isn't wanting to work for some reason. It is giving an error 99. I think it has something to do with the grip creating folders that. An not. E modified.

I wonder what's up with these Canon grips.. And man, how I look forward to get the one I ordered 6 weeks ago. Still in back order! Garr.
